Apply to be an At-Large Student
An at-large student is an appointed member of an ASSOU Committee that is not currently holding a position in one of the three branches of government. This is a great way to be involved in the conversation, use your voice, and vote on the decisions made on campus. Advisory Council Description
The Advisory Council shall have the power to speak for the student government when the student government is not in session. The Advisory Council shall have the power to act as the Student Government in the case of emergency, or when the three branches of ASSOU are not in session or are unable to convene.

AAC Description
The Athletics Advisory Committee is recognized as a subcommittee of the Student Fee Committee, and is charged with conducting budget investigations and recommending yearly budgets for all athletics.

Budget Committee Description
The purpose of the Budget Committee is to create ASSOU’s yearly budget, to address budgetary issues, and vote to approve or deny any budgetary requests.

Bylaws Committee Description
The purpose of the Bylaws Committee is to maintain and revise the ASSOU Bylaws as needed, and meets at least once per term.

Elections Committee Description
The Elections Committee shall be a committee of ASSOU and be comprised of Senate, Executive, and At-Large members.
The Election Rules will be composed by week 5 of every winter term by the Elections Committee who will, in conjunction with the Executive Branch, Administer all General and Special elections.

Environmental Affairs Committee Description
The main purpose of the EAC is to collaboratively create and maintain sustainability on campus. The committee strives to organize and provide information for on campus events and other educational campaigns that revolve around environmental advocacy, provide resources for students pursuing sustainability-led projects, and generally act as a liaison between the university and student-led efforts. Additionally, the EAC oversees the Green Fund, which funds projects that address and contribute to SOU’s mission towards sustainability.
Green Fund Description
The Green Fund makes possible a unique & student-led process that empowers sustainable initiatives on campus. Generated by the Green Tag student fee ($14 per student per term), the Green Fund provides students with the funding to execute sustainable and environmentally regenerative initiatives on campus. To begin proposing projects fill out the 2022 Green Fund Application.

GAC Description
The Governmental Affairs Committee is comprised of five (5) or more members.
The officer within the Executive Branch in charge of ASSOU governmental issues and campaigns shall sit as a member and as chair of this committee.
The purpose of the Governmental Affairs Committee is to: work on campaigns for university-wide, local, statewide and national issues that affect SOU students; and to propose suggestions for improving ASSOU’s ability to be involved in issues affecting students on a university-wide and larger scale.

The Heads of Government Committee meets regularly to give updates from their individual branches, discuss ASSOU issues, events, and planning, etc., with the guidance of the ASSOU advisors.

RCAC Description
The Recreation Center Steering Committee, is a standing committee which upholds the Recreation Center bylaws and reviews and recommends the Recreation Center Fee.
